Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you request an inspection, an estimate, a document review, or contact us through a form on this site, we collect what you enter. Typically that means your first and last name, email address, phone number, the property address, your city and ZIP code, your preferred method of contact, and any notes or questions you add.
Documents you upload
Our Free Roof Quote & Insurance Scope Review lets you upload files such as contractor proposals, approved insurance scopes, inspection reports, and photographs. These documents often contain details about your property, your contract, your claim, and your insurer. We collect and store the files you choose to send, along with the notes you provide about them.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we and our analytics providers collect standard technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view and how long you stay, the page or advertisement that referred you, and any campaign parameters carried in the link you followed (for example utm_source, utm_campaign, or a Google click identifier). We record the date, time, and IP address of each form submission as a record of consent and as a spam control.
Information from other sources
If you contact us through a third-party platform such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, or a review site, we receive whatever that platform passes along. If you are referred to us by an insurance adjuster, a property manager, a real estate agent, or a neighbour, we may receive your contact details and the reason for the referral from them.
How we use your information
- To review the documents you send and answer your questions about them
- To contact you about your request, by the method you told us you prefer
- To schedule and perform inspections, prepare estimates, and carry out work you hire us to do
- To communicate with your insurance carrier about the scope of repairs when we hold a signed contract with you, within the limits described in our Terms of Use
- To order materials, arrange permits, and coordinate crews and suppliers
- To keep records of our communications, our estimates, and the work we perform
- To register and support manufacturer and workmanship warranties
- To understand how this website is used and to improve it
- To detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of our forms
- To meet legal, tax, licensing, insurance, and record-keeping obligations
- With your separate opt-in, to send you marketing about our services
Text messages and phone calls
If you give us your phone number when you request a review, an estimate, or an inspection, we will use it to reach you about that request. That is service communication, and it is what you asked us to do.
Marketing calls and text messages are separate. We only send those if you tick the optional marketing consent box, and ticking it is never a condition of getting a quote, a review, an inspection, or any service from us.
Where you have opted in: message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You can also opt out by calling us or replying to any email.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and your text-message consent are not sold, rented, or passed to anyone else’s marketing list. The only parties who ever see your number are the service providers who help us deliver our own messages to you, and they are not permitted to use it for anything else.
Calls to and from our office may be recorded or monitored for quality and training. If a call is being recorded you will be told at the start, and you can ask us not to record.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share the documents you upload with third-party lead buyers, data brokers, or other contractors.
We do share information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Our website host, email delivery provider, phone and texting provider, analytics providers, and any customer-management software we use. They process information on our behalf, under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Suppliers and trade partners. Where a job requires it, we share the property address and job details with material suppliers, dumpster and equipment vendors, and any subcontracted crew.
- Your insurance carrier. Only where you have engaged us and we are discussing the scope of repairs, and only within the limits set out in our Terms of Use.
- Permitting authorities. Where a permit or inspection requires it.
- Legal. Where we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, or to protect someone’s safety.
- Business transfer. If Watchdog is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction. You would be told before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
How we protect your documents
Documents submitted through our upload tool travel over an encrypted HTTPS connection and are stored in a non-public directory on our web server. They are deliberately kept out of the public media library, are not linked from any public page, are excluded from search engines, and cannot be opened from a direct web address. Retrieving one requires signing in to our website, and access is limited to Watchdog personnel handling your request.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you would rather not send a document electronically, call us at 720-235-8159 and we will arrange another way.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries that do not become jobs: generally kept for up to two years, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us.
- Uploaded documents: kept as long as needed to complete the review and respond to you, and then for the period above unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Customer and job records: kept for the life of the workmanship warranty and for as long as required by Colorado law, our insurers, and tax rules — normally at least seven years.
- Marketing consent records and opt-out requests: kept as long as we operate, because we need them to prove consent and to honour opt-outs.
You can ask us to delete documents you have sent at any point, and we will unless we are required to keep them.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
This site uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and for analytics, including Google Analytics via Google Site Kit. These help us understand which pages people use and where our visitors come from. We may also use advertising cookies from Google or Meta to measure the performance of our advertising and, where permitted, to show ads to people who have visited our site.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of this site work. Our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is still no common standard for how to interpret them.
Some pages use Google Maps. Google’s own privacy policy governs the information Google collects through that service.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to give you a copy in a portable format. You can also ask us to stop sending marketing.
Colorado residents have specific rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. To exercise any of these, contact us at info@watchdogroofrestoration.com or 720-235-8159. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If we decline your request, you may appeal. Reply to our decision, or write to us at the address above marking your message “Privacy Appeal,” and a different person will review it. If we deny the appeal, you may contact the Colorado Attorney General’s office.
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights and are welcome to use the same contacts.
Children
This website is meant for adults arranging work on property they own or manage. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including manufacturer pages, review platforms, and social media. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business, our tools, or the law changes. The date at the top shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on this page.
